- We are in Dauphiné, near Pontcharra and what will become Fort-Barraux, in the village of La Buissière, at the foot of a fortress which stands opposite the Savoyards. In this village, a notary, Pierre Maniquet. Little is known about him except that in 1465 he bought land at La Buissière and that he would leave this world before August 19, 1522, the date when his heirs would share it. Two sons will survive him:
Claude Maniquet, who will succeed his father as a notary at La Buissière, and who will follow
Barthélémy Maniquet, who will travel beyond the Dauphiné, to Rive-de-Gier en Forez, where he will marry Léonarde d'Aussère, the only daughter of the local notary, to whom he will succeed. He died before February 14, 1521, the date of the second marriage of his only daughter Anne.
