- "There is, in the extract Baptistere du sieur de Maudave, an error in the mother's name: because it is agreed, that the wife of Louis Henry Feyderbe de Maudave be called Marie Anne de Maudave. She bears the same name, which her husband bore, a singularity which is not strange. But in the extract Baptistere, Louis Denis, it is the one in question, is said "son of. Sieur Louis Henry Feyderbe, & de Demoisele Marie Anne Courtois, born of legitimate marriage, on March 12, baptized the same New Year's Day 1686. Sieur Louis Rigoine had for Parain, & Demoisele Anne le Maitre for Maraine. "
Here is a child born of a legitimate marriage. The Baptistere extract attests to this; & the mother's proper name is not, that of the father's wife, It is her name of baptism, Marie Anne: but it is Courtois, instead of Maudave."
